Job Description

The SME Finance Lead will oversee all activities related the SME finance interventions of the programmer. The Lead will be responsible for the management of the various work streams in relation to SME finance, including. Roles and Responsibility:

  • Oversee management of SME finance team, responsible for different technical assistance facilities.

  • Develop and oversee activities to enhance access to finance to SMEs in Ethiopia.

  • Lead the development of a detailed work plan and budget for the first 3 months and rolling indicative work plan and budget for the future years of the programmer.

  • Provide technical leadership in access to finance and institutional capacity building of national banks, commercial banks, microfinance institutions and lease finance companies.

  • Coordinate closely with various stakeholders at all levels of Government, donors and private institutions.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including private sector institutions, government ministries and donors.

  • Work closely with results management teams to ensure continuous monitoring and feedback to ensure quality implementation and achievement of intended impact.

  • Satisfy periodic budgeting process and reporting requirements for DAI and stakeholders.


Skill Requirement:

  • University degree or higher, in business, economics, finance or related discipline.

  • 10 years plus proven experience of in SME finance in developing countries, ideally East Africa.

  • Proven expertise in project management and leading a diverse team of functional experts.

  • A proven leader managing people and large programmer in development finance.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with public and private sector stakeholders.

  • Proven experience with programs with multiple donor funds involved.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and commitment to building the skills and competence of the team.
